Game features
The player can play as 8 of the 9 Power Heroes. The heroes all have a unique ability:
- Catboy can use a super jump, and use his Cat Speed to break objects or push enemies out of the way.
- Owlette can fly and use her Owl Wing Wind.
- Gekko can climb on walls and use his Lizard Tail Swipe.
- Bastet can teleport over short distances, which essentially acts like a double-jump, and use her Sun Disc to destroy obstacles in her path or attack enemies.
- Lilyfay can fly and fire starlight rays to break obstacles or defeat enemies.
- An Yu can use her staff to reach higher places, or slow down her descent when she jumps from a high point. With her magic flute, she can break objects or defeat enemies.
- Ice Cub can throw super snowballs to defeat enemies or break through obstacles.
- Newton Star rides on an asteroid and use his star shields.
The game has several settings that the player can turn on or off to change the difficulty level:
- Easy Enemy AI
- Automatic QTE
- Magnetic Gems: if turned on, this causes gems to automatically fly to the player character once they are within a close enough range.
- Jump assistance.
Gameplay
The gameplay is in many ways similar to that of "PJ Masks: Heroes of the Night." Players have to navigate the 8 Power Heroes and the PJ Explorider through various levels based on locations from the TV series. The main goal in each level is to collect gems, parts of Power Q and hidden collectibles, while dodging obstacles and enemy traps, and ultimately complete the mission related to that level by defeating a Nighttime Villain.
The heroes are split in pairs referred to as PJ Power Pairs in the game, with the player being able to control one hero per pair while the other hero provides assistance with tips and warnings. The game has 4 levels, and each level is in turn split in 6 sublevels. Each Power Pair has their own assigned sublevel, with the player switching control between the heroes halfway through. At the halfway point of a sublevel, the two heroes encounter a bigger problem that they can solve in three possible ways, either with their own powers or by asking another hero for backup. One Power Pair gets a second sublevel where they control the PJ Explorider. When 5 sub-levels are completed, the sixth sub-level is unlocked where all heroes collectively face the main villain of that level.
The sublevels in which the player controls one of the heroes mainly are designed like 2D-style platform games, where the players character can move left, right, up and down, though sometimes they incorporate 3D elements like when Gekko climbs on a wall or during Newton and Ice Cub’s sublevels. The sub-levels where the player controls the PJ Explorider are designed like racing games, with the PJ Explorider being seen from behind and moving away from the player, who can steer the vehicle to either left or right.
Story & Levels
At the start of the game, the heroes are in Power Q where Newton Star shows them his latest creation; the Asteroid Magnification Machine, which will allow him to control the biggest asteroids in the galaxy. During the demonstration however, the machine explodes and causes significant damage to Power Q. Four reactors, gears from the core motors and nearly all reactor fuel crystals are lost and end up falling to Earth. The PJ’s need to get them back before the nighttime villains can get their hands on them and figure out the secrets of Power Q. While PJ Robot locates the missing parts, the heroes form teams of two for the various missions: Ice Cub teams up with Newton, Gekko with An Yu, Owlette with Lilyfay, and Catboy with Bastet.
- The City: Some of the gears have ended up in the city, and Luna Girl is ordering her moths to collect them, along with metal objects, for an unknown purpose. The heroes have to navigate both downtown Tarabiscoville and the sewers beneath the city (which in this game look like ancient ruins, decorated with wolf statues) to stop her and find the missing crystals. They have to fight Luna Girl’s moths and dodge traps like moonballs and strong winds. At the end of each sublevel, the two heroes find a gear from Power Q. Catboy and Bastet have an additional sublevel where they have to drive the Explorider through the sewers to collect more gems. The final sublevel begins with another section where the PJ Explorider has to navigate through the sewers, followed by a section where all Power Heroes confront Luna Girl and use their powers to defeat her. After defeating her, the heroes reclaim one of the missing reactor units. Luna however, claims she already has enough metal for her actual plan.
- Mystery Mountain: An Yu’s flute alerts her that something is wrong on Mystery Mountain. It turns out Night Ninja and his Ninjalinos are stealing all the Sticky Splat of Mystery Mountain, and he also has one of the missing reactors. The PJ Power Pairs have to respectively navigate through the bamboo forests and various caves around and inside the mountain and even The Pagoda to gather crystals and gears from Power Q. Obstacles include Ninjalinos and sticky splat. Owlette and Lilyfay get to drive the PJ Explorider this time in the fifth sublevel. In the final sub-level, after another ride with the PJ Explorider, the heroes defeat Night Ninja to reclaim the second reactor, but Night Ninja escapes with the stolen sticky splat.
- Iceworld: Based on Luna Girl and Night Ninja’s actions, the heroes suspect the villains are forming an alliance. The drone then detects Romeo in Iceworld, where he and his Fly Bots are collecting reactor fuel crystals. He also has one of the reactors. The heroes have to navigate the various locations of Iceworld to defeat the fly bots and collect the crystals and gear. Gekko and An Yu get to drive the PJ Explorider in the fifth sublevel this time. In the final sublevel, after another ride with the PJ Explorider, the heroes confront Romeo and take back the reactor. Romeo, however, reveals he already stole the fourth missing reactor, and escapes with his Fly Bots and the collected crystals.
- Dark PJ Power Q: The Power Heroes discover that Romeo, Night Ninja and Luna Girl are indeed working together; they have used the stolen metal, sticky splat, crystals and fourth reactor to make their own evil version of Power Q, from where they plan to use their latest weapon, the hypno-laser, to enslave the whole world. Newton analyses the evil Power Q and discovers there are four possible entrances. The heroes again split up in Power Pairs, with each pair focusing on a different entrance. Along the way they encounter all the hazards and enemies from the previous three levels. Newton and Ice Cub get to drive the PJ Explorider in the fifth sub-level. In the final sub-level, all heroes defeat the villains and stop the hypno-laser.

Trivia
- If the game shares the same continuity as the animated series, it is set some time after "Space Fairy Hero" as Lilyfay and Bastet are both members of the Power Heroes.
- While in the show Newton can fly under his own power, in this game his only mode of transportation is riding an asteroid that hovers slightly above the ground.
- Armadylan is the only hero not featured in any way.
- In the final level, Owlette flies through space but is not wearing her spacesuit for some reason.
- Additionally, Catboy, Owlette and Gekko don't wear their Riding Armor while in Iceworld.
Errors
- In the credits, Brianna Daguanno and Michaela Mohamud's last names are misspelled as "D'Aguanno" and "Muhamad," respectively.
